Word 2002 Slow to Load Now

Last week my PC crashed harder than before but nothing was lost. The only problem that resulted from that is Word now loads slower than it used to and when opening subsequent documents (when one is already opened) is slower too.
What I want to know is, would re installing Word over the current install help any? I have no idea where to look for the bottleneck.

Same for me, lots of problems for a long time with Microsoft Works Suite 2002 with Word. I did find that if you have Norton (Symantec) Virus protection, make sure you go into options, then miscellaneous, then the part about then how to keep Microsoft documents protected and disable (eliminate the check mark). It seems to run a bit faster but I still have problems with it recovering and runtime errors, etc.
