Word 2002 Questions

Hi folks. First, when I paste text from the web into Word, Word wants to access the Internet (cant recall exactly what it wants to connect to), so I looked thru the options and saw nothing that might stop this. Any ideas?
Also, when I first open a document, it takes a while (running a 350mhz machine) to complete loading, annoying. If a document is already open, opening other files does not take so long. Any solution for this? Thanks.

What's the exact error/message that you're getting?
Executing a Word document without Word being open will slow the machine down. That's not unusual behavior.

No errors, I was just wondering if it was normal behavior when I am opening the initial Word doc. I get in the habit of leaving one open so subsequent docs load faster.
I do want to stop Word from trying to access the Internet tho. Any thoughts?
