Got a really wierd problem in Word 2000. If I have Word open and then go to File > Open and select a document it works fine. But if I browse to the root of c:\ in explorer the doc will open but then lose focus, and explorer will go on top. I checked the doc file extension in Folder Options and it all appears to be correct. I tried removing the DDE settings which stopped this problem but the file would then not open and I got an error stating that the file does not exist. If I open it with Word already oepn it still works fine. I have tried reinstalling Office but I cant stop both problems at the same time. Does anybody have any idea what may be causing this?
