Hello to Everybody!I'd like to ask a question.I recently installed WindowsXP .I booted from CD and formated HD .Instalation CD was orriginal It cames with computer .During instalation it asked me for service pack 2 cd which I dont have.So I clicked cancel and after set up had finished I installed Service pack 2 downloaded from net.But problem is that I got couple issues.1.Help and support in a start menu does not work.I cannot even find this in c/windows.2.Windows firewall does not start autommatically after reboot-if I want connect to net I need to turn it manually in services even if it's set to autommatic.3.windows installer does not work correctly-I'm not able to install some programs as skype or antivir.4.I'm not abble to run msconfig command in run tab.5.System restore is missing in system tools. All this problems persist if I install or uninstall service pack 2 or 3.It loks like some parts of system instalation are missing or are not installed or turned on...I tryed reinstall.Thank you very very much for your advice and answer.Maybe I need to do just small trick, maybe it's something serious.I'm logon as adm. Thanks

I would do a clean install and if you can, bypass when it asks for XP SP2 disk. If that is possible then after install is complete, go to microsoft downloads and d/l XP SP3 to your desktop and install it from the desktop. SP3 will include SP2 data and should provide a nice seamless O/S.

P.S. This is an Office application forum.

There is a forum dedicated to Windows XP on this site.
