Solved why does clicking in a cell select multiple cells?

One page will select single cells when you click them but when you scroll down to the next page and try to select a cell to edit or to insert a row, 2 or more cells are selected and we are unable to figure out what went wrong and how to solve the issue.
The random (and unwanted) selection of multiple cells in Excel 2007 & 2010 is a known issue. Might be an issue with 2013 also. Typically adjusting the zoom percentage solves the issue, at least temporarily.
Try the slider in lower right corner of the Excel window. Slide it up or down and then back to wherever you want it.
