Solved Why am I not able to open PDF files sent to me?

February 16, 2015 at 14:52:15
Specs: Windows 7
When trying to open attached PDF files that apparently are created in the Acrobat Adobe format, I was informed that my Acrobat X Pro trial has expired and I should buy now.
On December 24, 2014 an order No. AD015174621 was submitted and confirmed. When attempting to install same I was informed that I have another version of Acrobat and if I continue the installation, existing version will be replaced. I did not continue the installation as I did not quite understand what the result would be. As a result I paid for the Adobe Acrobat Pro subscription but have not been able to use it.

Furthermore I am not certain that Acrobat Pro is the correct choice for me. I have been using Acrobat Reader in the past and that was all I needed for my purposes.

Adobe Reader (free) is all that you should need to view pdf files:

It would be best to first uninstall whatever version you already have in order to avoid conflictions.

Alternatively you could use Foxit Reader which is adequate for most folk, although it can have issues with certain modern "forms":
(but again uninstall Adobe first)

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
