Thank you for your reply.

Tried expanding the deleted file no luck. But in looking further after your suggestion see that I have 3 "directories" under "Mail" 1) Favorites 2) Outlook Data File 3) My web mail address.

I went down the web mail folder to "Trash" and expanded that and found the deleted items there.

My laptop is a stand alone not on a network but thinking my Office 2011 is for a network so it is always connecting with the web mail unless I click work off line.

I still have a lot to learn.

Again thank you for your assistance.

They should go to the Deleted Items unless you did a Shift-Delete. Or, if you have Outlook configured to empty Deleted Items when closing Outlook, the the message would have been removed from the Deleted Items at that time.

Did you try an Undo immediately after deleting the message? Are you running through an Exchange Server by any chance?

I thought they should go to "Deleted Items" but they did not. I was using the "X" delete on the Home Ribbon.

I have unchecked to box to empty delete folder upon closing.

The software is on a stand alone laptop.

I was previously using Outlook 2000 so there is a lot of revisions in between that I need to catch up on. I am getting use to the e-mails being in two places on my hard drive and on webmail (gmail).

Thank you for the suggestions.

Expand your Deleted Items Folder. It is listed as a sub-folder. I just did the samething and panicked when I couldn't find it.
