Hi. I currently have Office XP 2002 and I was thinking of upgrading to Office XP 2003.
My question is, is there any real difference between the two. Would it be worth upgrading?
I mostly use Microsoft word. Would Word 2003 have more features than 2002?

I use both Office 2002 and 2003 regularly and I cant tell the difference. There may be some minor differences in the code but functionally they appear the same.
Remember though that 80% of people only use 20% of MS words facilities.

Most of the differences I am aware of between the two are in Outlook. One thing that is universally different is that Office 2003 includes a document image writer. This is something like a PDF, but of course it is proprietary and not nearly as universal as PDFs.

You can see what Microsoft says. Most of the features would benefit businesses but not individual home users. I've used both at work and can't see any significant improvements (except in Outlook). Save your money :-)
One other consideration is whether Word 2003 will correctly render Word XP docs. It should; however, I know that my brother had a lot of trouble with certain docs he created in Word 2000 not paginating the same way in Word XP. (I also wonder if any featuers of 2003 make it harder to OpenOffice.org to render Word documents.)
