I found system1.ldb in windows under internet logs and it was 1.8 mg and growning larger everyday. It is listed as "microsoft access record locking file". I can't open it and if I delete it, it just comes back and starts to collect info again. I even uninstalled ms access because I don't use it and thought it might make it go away but it didn't. What is it and how can I get rid of it. Thanks.

It sounds like some lame but nasty script somewhere. I'd get a virus check just to be sure.
You should be confident that it isn't an Access locking file, as these contain user data about who is currently in a database, and are deleted on exit. I've never encountered one greater than 1k.
Can you open the file in Wordpad or something to see what is in it? It could give you a clue...

I use Windows 98 and don't have that file. It could be from XP, but I doubt something that cancerous would be part of a legitimate program.
Have you scanned for Spyware or viruses?

P.S. If that didn't help you might repost your question on the XP forum. This one is for "office software," and being a new addition to the forums there aren't as many readers here.

Mesich - what, even at that size?
Besides, if it were a genuine lock file, it would be deleted when the user quitted the database, no?
