Hi all
I am doing some maintenance / upgrades in my computer training rooms. One PC which now has a dual boot Win98SE/WinXP Pro on separate partitions is not allowing me to install any MS Office suite. I have Office '97, 2000 and 2002 - full versions. When I go to install from the CD on either op system, the welcome screen where I choose install type has YELLOW icons and black marks. Once I see these,I know the install won't work properly. I have tried this several times on both o/s's and all 3 office CD's. If the install is able to complete I end up with yellow toolbar icons (say in Word) and extremely limited functionality. The drives have clean os installs with only Windows updates and anti virus added so far. Have disabled a/v with no success. Have used Office CD's since to install on other PC's without a problem. Can anyone offer any ideas? I'm getting desperate. Many thanks. David

That's a strange one! no idea really. But I guess you must be using Admin login! sorry to mention it :)
Suggest if you have time you try to replicate the problem which will help you work out the source of the problem. Try a duel-boot install on a spare PC that you know office will install on, then change to a duel-boot and try the install.
If you get the same result then at least you will save time trying to find out what is wrong!
Try and make it the same spec PC to be sure of the results!
Good luck

Thanks Jabba, but have already had success on other dual boot configs since I did this PC with no problems. Even PC specs are the same. Only have 1 user (admin) on XP at this stage. Still baffled.
