I want to create a Powerpoint slide that plays a song while digital images "pop-up" and "dim" in time to the music. I'm looking for information on the easiest and cheapest way to take a song off a CD (or other source) and get it into a file format (.WAV?) compatible with PowerPoint'97.
I also want to know if there are any problems I should look out for while doing this (I hate surprises).
I would like to do this without having to purchase software, but I will buy something if I have to.

Hey,
If you have windows media player it will convert and copy a song from a cd to your hard disk. Not entirely sure about putting the song on power point, you could just loop the song in the background and set the slides to specific times within the music. It may not be the easiest way though.
