I want to know if any of you have a formula that will allow me to use vlookup to return a total count of the entries that fit the vlookup criteria.

For Instance:
I have a sheet that has multiple names along with case numbers and another column that shoues is the case was closed or open.
I then have a summary sheet in which I want it to seach through and find all cases that have the same name and return the closed cases. Then I want it to return the all the open cases for that username.

The data sheet will continually change so I want to be able to past a new sheet in and the formulas will calcualte the correct information.

Can anyone help?
