I have 2 simple spreadsheets. The first contains 2 columns with approx 6000 product codes in 1 column (A) and a price in the other (B)

The second spreadsheet contains approx 1000 product codes (all of which will be somewhere on the first spreadsheet) in column A. I want to use the VLOOKUP function to search the larger spreadsheet (Sheet1) for every product code in column A, pickup the corresponding price and place it in Sheet2 in column B.

THis is what I am trying.....

=VLOOKUP(B1,Sheet1!A:B,2)

The problem is that it returns a completely random value. For example, when it should find £145.00, it's finding £8.08 and this relates to nothing, almost like it making it up!

I have tried adding "false" to the end of the formula but it makes no difference.

Any ideas anyone???
