I dont know whether I need to use macros but im pretty sure I do.
I am creating a powerpoint presentation and on one slide I would like a stick figure, which I have already made using autoshapes and grouped together, move across the page, bend over and say something.

A macro is usually used to perform a series of commands. I don't think this is what you need.
You can make an animated gif from your stick figures and put that into your show.

there are lots of free gif animators out there. Go to Google and type in "free gif animators" or go to www.nonags.com and look around in the graphics editors section for one.
