Hello everyone,
I have a program that has been fragmented using the sfv checker program. The pieces are in the .rar format. I left a post and was told to use the winrar pgm.It does not seem to work for me as each part shows a bin file and says they are all the same and wants to know if it should overwrite. There are 7 parts to this file from .r00 to .r06, according to the winrar pgm they are all the same. Could you please advise me as to how I can unravel and connect the parts to unite the program,
thanking you in advance for your help and input,
frank

I have not used this in a while but I believe you simply place all seven parts into the same folder.

Use winrar to open the first one (.r00) and that's it. The instructions are in the first one to expand all the data in the other six.

When you expand the first one does the total size of the expanded files exceed the total size of the 7 .rar files?

Hello Bryan,
The bin files are 150 megs, all the rar files are the same size with the exception of the last, but, according to winrar the extracted bin is the same size as the others. They are all in the same directory or folder, winrar has exploded the first file, but says the other are the same and want to know if it should overwrite. I have not done this since my dos days, and if I can remember the process was much simpler. I don't see an exe file with the first decompressed file, all are bin files, probably another unzip process has to take place after the rar files have been brought to their original size.
Thank you for your help and any suggestions you may have,
frank

Now it comes down to "what is the file supposed to be?"

Have a look at this FilExt.com search result for a description and possible solutions to reading or working with the .bin files.
