I am new to this forum

In Word 2002:
How can I get rid of the highlights and fills in my tables?

What I did:
I selected a whole page with both paragraphs inside and outside table, and then give it gray highlights and gray fills.

What I have tried:
1. I was able to remove highlights and fills from the paragraphs outside the tables but not inside.
2. tried selecting whole table, partial tables, tables and paragraphs. Nothing let me remove the highlights and fills inside of tables.

Any ideas?

Click somewhere in the table, then click on the Highlight on the formatting toolbar, click none, then drag the cursor over the text you want to change.

That always works for me.
