Unable to send via Outlook 2000

SOmething happened and now I can receive email with Outlook 2000 but can not send. it reports the following error: Sending error (Account: 'don@durkes', SMTP Server: 'mail.domain.com', Error Number: 0x80070005).
I can't find anything on this error (of substance) anywhere.
I may have to reinstall but would hate to, of course.
