Just IE8? Or issues in other programs?

Check the environment variables for copy and paste. ;)

I'm still learning everyday.

You need to right-click and choose one of the three options - paste text only, keep source formatting, merge formatting. You probably want Keep source formatting if you want both pictures + text. You can set that to the default if you click on the paste button on the top-left of the Word screen and choose to set Keep source formatting as the default. It's still very irritating that you can't just copy and paste any more!!! If you still don't get the option to paste pictures, paste the picture into Paint or Wordpad first, then copy and paste it from there.

To sitalkes: Following is the original message stating my problem w/ copy and paste in MS 7. When you say
"It's still very irritating that you can't just copy and paste anymore!!! - are you stating that the option was removed in MS 10? Perhaps that is the issue in MS 7?

Thanks very much.
Original: I am on XP, have Windows7 with Excel and have a problem when I try to cut/copy and paste-
to word, to excel-to anywhere! The error message of "Excel not responding” is set off,
98% of the time I have to close everything that is open,
sometimes the paste takes, sometimes it doesn’t.
Previous posts have identified this as a Microsoft programming issue, and
I do not know what to do.
It’s a huge time killer. Previous posts have also said reinstalling didn’t help.
