I have a feeling it is too late, but I just wanted to check. Today I switched out motherboards and installed a new HD in my computer. I still have my old HD in there. Old system was Intel, new is AMD. Before making the switch, I "thought" I'd saved my Outlook emails into a *pst file, but it appears I did it wrong.
I am running Office (Outlook) XP. I installed Outlook on the new HD, opened it, then tried importing my .pst file. All of my folders came into the program, but no emails. Is there a way to fix this without having to switch out motherboards and HDs (I still have my old HD in as a slave)? Can I even fix this if I make the switch? Any ideas, suggestions, thoughts? Thanks!

bfellar,
Switching MOBO's and HD's won't make any difference. This is a software.data issue. Just do a search on your old drive for "*.pst" and then import your old "outlook.pst" file. If you've made your own folders for emails in the past you'll need to make new shortcuts to them but that's easy. Just <right-click> in your Shortcuts and choose "Outlook Bar Shortcut".
good luck,
wired

Thanks for the info. Seems easy enough...unfortunately, I have discovered I do not have access to my personal user file on the previous HD. I get an "ACCESS DENIED" popup when attempting to access it (which is where I am assuming the file is located). Anyone with any suggestions on "gaining access"? Thanks
