Text box positioning. Word 2003

I'm going crazy with Word 2003. I have three text boxes that overlap slightly at the top of a document. They appear correctly positioned on the screen and in Print Preview but when I print, two have moved a few centimetres. This happens on both my printers so it can't be the printer.
The only way that I can get them to print in position is to compensate by placing them out of position on screen.

Instead of using 3 text boxes, create a table with 1 column and three rows. This way they will stay exactly in place.

Thanks Kurt, but this doesn't allow me the overlap I need on the type area.
I think this is the problem, despite ticking the box "allow overlap" the boxes are moving apart when I print or go to PDF because they are trying to avoid overlap.
