Hi Guys,
I know this is simple, but I'm very new to the MS office environment. Does someone know what I would do to add duplicate rows in excel based on certain criterea.
For example, say I have the following
PART#/ CUSTOMER / SALES_1999 / SALES_2000
0000 / honda / 1000 / 2000
0000 / bmw / 1200 / 1500
0000 / bmw / 1500 / 1600
0001 / mercedes/ 2000 / 2500
0001 / bmw / 500 / 1000
0002 / nissan / 600 / 2500
0002 / nissan / 3000 / 500
0002 / nissan / 800 / 900
0003 / audi / 5000 / 7500
0003 / nissan / 1500 / 800
0004 / hyundai / 1600 / 1600
0005 / toyota / 2300 / 2500I want excel to detect if the part number and the customer is the same. If it is, then I want excel to sum up the yearly earnings for that combination of part number and customer, to end up with the following table:
PART# / CUSTOMER / SALES_1999 / SALES_2000
0000 / honda / 1000 / 2000
0000 / bmw / 2700 / 3100
0001 / mercedes / 2000 / 2500
0001 / bmw / 500 / 1000
0002 / nissan / 4400 / 3900
0003 / audi / 5000 / 7500
0003 / nissan / 1500 / 800
0004 / hyundai / 1600 / 1600
0005 / toyota / 2300 / 2500If anyone knows excel has any tools to do this, or the algorithm that I would need to write, I would really appreciate your help.
I thank you in advance.
Thank you,
Zameer
