stuck large file in Outbox

i have a large message (with attachment) that is stuck in my Outbox. i am using Outlook 2003. because of that i can't cancel or delete it since it says "this message has already begun transmiting" Can you please help me get rid of this file?

If you unplug your internet connection and restart are you able to stop the process

I have tried this several times, and it doesn't solve the problem. The attachment on this message in my Outbox is 88mg. I feel so lame!!

Thank you SO MUCH!!! After reading your response more carefully, I realized that I had never restarted the computer with the modem unplugged. I did that, plugged in the modem, and I was able to delete the large message. Thank you again!!
