using Office 2007 on Vista. Have Word doc that I was reformatting and changed some of the fonts to Brazil, while leaving headings in other fonts. Saved it as such. When I came back and tried to change this font, EVERY font I try to change the text to, other than Brazil, shows as little boxes or questions marks in boxes. Apparently applying this font was death! The headings that were in another font are fine. I can't figure out how to fix my document without starting from scratch (I did a lot of editing and formatting -- arrgh!). Anyone seen this before?

You could try to Copy the offending passages to Notepad or Wordpad and see if they show up correct. I believe the problem is that Word no longer recognizes the Brazil font.
It does not show up on my list of fonts for Word 2000.
Is it an add-on font?
When I pasted some of the text into Notepad, it showed up at boxes, but when I pasted it into Wordpad, it showed up in the Brazil font and in there I can change it to another font! Thanks for that suggestion! I'm also able to paste it back in my document now. I think you must be right, that Brazil is no longer recognized. I probably still have it in Word because I also have Word 97 on my computer and that document was created a long time ago. I sure wish I hadn't saved it in that font. Brazil seems to think it's a symbol font or something.
I seem to have acquired a lot of bizarre fonts somewhere/somehow. I've even had some that crashed my computer when I tried to use them in graphics programs. Maybe I need to do some housecleaning!
Thanks for the help.
Maybe I need to do some housecleaning! Here's a list of the fonts included in Office 2003 as a starting point.

You might find this of help also, but I have never used it myself.

Good luck.
DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE SOFTWARE FROM
http://www.sdsoftware.org/default.a...I downloaded FontFrenzy to give it a try, and I am having a bunch of problems with my computer since the install.
I have currently uninstalled it and am running Norton in safe mode.
Don't know whether it is Virus/Trojan or just a lousy piece of software.
Back up and running.
Both Norton & Malwarebytes came up clean after the uninstall.
Although it did leave a whole bunch of Registry entries that I had to manually remove.
Look like just a lousy piece of software.

Thanks that looks helpful. I'll pass up that Font Frenzy! Glad you got it cleaned up.
