Not really an office software Q. Using office 2003, Acrobat 7.0 prof. (no pdf toolbar option selected at install!), I disabled acrotay.exe. from startup. When I make a PDF via..print…. pdf-writer the “printer driver” needs to open acrotay.exe (regardless of weather an icon is shown) , then open acrodist.exe (adobe distiller). These stay running after the print job (i.e. pdf conversion) is done. I don’t want these two processes (acrotay.exe, and acrodist.exe) running in the background. How do I get them to switch off afterwards? I tried simply crippling the acrotay.exe file but then I get nothing. I have a few other pdf writers (many small and fast) but sometimes need the better precision of the adobe /writer distiller.
