Spell Check in MS-Word

Spell check is not functioning properly in several of my documents. Most notably is that a portion of the document it detects error and misspell words and other portion of the document I’d purposely misspell a word and doesn’t detect it. It is extremely problematic that spell check is not functioning in this case as mistakes, could reflect poorly on our institution.

When you mispell the words purposely are you sure you arent just spelling a DIFFERENT word? like .. there their they're?

No I’m not. In fact, I’m typing random text to see if MS word would underline them as misspelled words. I found a work around. Copy and paste special, select unformatted text. However, I lose all the formatting of the document, but I don’t have to retype the entire document.
