Sorting tables alphabetically

I have a two column multi row un-numbered/bullet list. I wish to sort both columns as a single list but word will only do one column or the other and not both. If I do one and then the other the first one reverts back to the way it was, "Unsorted". Thank you in advance.

Columns can be sorted only one way or the other, not both.
