some messages don't get to OE

SOme messages seem to stick on the server. SOme come, then when I use mail2web to check my accountthere are still some there;not all messages seem to be able to "get through" to Outlook Express inbox. Messages "stuck" vary in size, type and sender. SOme get through and some don't, even from same sender.Use McAfee security suite, but no alerts there. Any ideas anyone?? THanks
