Hi;
This doesn't happen all the time,...but when it does it's very frustrating. Occassionally, when typing in Outlook,....it will take a few seconds for the letters to appear in the document. Just wondering what might cause that to happen. Like I say,....it's not all the time. It's mostly just annoying,....but I'd like to figure out if it's something that I can actually "fix". I'm pretty sure that my system is clean. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same issue but it happens in all programs I am typing in - without any explanation at all. The text doesn't keep up with me even if I type super slow. Have looked at processes that are running and see no reason for it. Sometimes it skips what I typed and doubles up the later typing. VERY frustrating.

I too have this problem. It comes and goes but the problem is the same in all programs which makes me suspect the OS. It just happens while typing this message. I type and when i look up at eh screen the letters are appearing slowly. I can stop typing yet the letters continue to appear.
This is a brand new Dell Inspiron running XP Media Center edition Service Pack 2.
I have scanned it thoroughly for viruses, mallware, adware and robots and it's clean. I do notice that when the problem occurs my hard drive is running - even though I don't have any other programs running. It doesn't happen when the hard drive is not running - and the hard drive appears to run for no reason.
I will be calling Dell tomorrow to get help with this issue.
