Slooooow scanning

My scanner has to "warm up" everytime I press any of the buttons, even when the documents are scanned right after one another. User's guide has been no help any else this problem and if so how did you fix it.

Just an FYI...this forum is for Office related applications such as Word, Excel, etc. Your question would probably get more responses in the General Hardware forum.
