hi is it possible in Word to say skip half way down the page and start typing without hitting the enter key to do so then later return to the top of page and insert say a picture without messing up what i have typed already,i tried doingthis with the enter key but when i insert the pic later it messes up all the paragaphs bec say the pic takes 5 lines of space that means each time i had hit enter started as iff 5 new paragaphs and not blank space so everthing gets pushed out of sync by 5 paragraphs. i hope i expained my problem clearly. thanks for the help

if you insert the text and picture into a Table you can just about put anything anywhere you want to. Click on the Table command button and highlight the squares of the Table size you want. Nezt put the cursor on the page and click - the table will now be inseerted into the document. Each cell within the Table can be formatted with any type of text and have any type of picture inserted. you can resize the individual cells, put text alongside a picture or whatever.
to remove or modify the table cell outlines, click on the Table format button, highlight borders and shading and experiment with this.
