I want to use an image of my company's logo as my email signature. I have found that I can do this either by including HTML code to a location on the web where this image is, or else by including the image with the message (vizavi an attachment).
The problem with the first method is that obviously people can only see the image when they are connected to the net.
The problem with the second method is that although email programs generally display the image inline, they also register it as an attachment which can confuse our clients and frustrate them when they open it to see it's just a company logo.
Generally, which of these two non-ideal options is the best to use?
Or is there another way of including an image as an email signature???

Depending on the email client the recipient is using, or.. the configuration if he/she is using Outlook, any image signature will come through as an attachment. I don't think there is any way to do this so that universally everyone will see the image.

I came across this in webmasterworld.com - am about to try it now :)
There is a way to stop the inserted img appearing as an
attachment also and that is to make it a background like this
<style type="text/css"> body { background:url(your_logo.jpg) no-repeat scroll top left #ffffff; } </style>This will position your logo to the top left of the page but,
of course you can place it just about anywhere with these options...
top left top center top right center left center center center right bottom left bottom center bottom right x-% y-% x-pos y-posIf you are not familiar with 'css' or backgrounds you may
find this site useful...

Hi Jennifer
Unfortunately when testing there appeared many issues with the background image. Perhaps there are ways around it, but I could not find any.
Oddly the background image generally worked well, however when a message recipient hit reply it would react with unpredictable results, sometimes wallpapering the entire message (with the repeating image), sometimes causing an error, sometimes actually jamming the recipients email programme.
So unfortunately I've had to give up on this option (it sounded so promising!), and have instead started using Word as my email editor, simply interting a picture into the word signature and ticking the box that says "send images with email message".
For most people using Outlook (not sure about Eudora sorry), this works fine, effectively sending the image as an attachment but not displaying it as such (ie, the image displays where it should in the message, not as a separate file).
Sorry a long and messy answer which doesn't help much!
