Does anyone know of the existence of a plug-in for Outlook Express that will stop you from emailing certain addresses? IOW, if bob@aol.com has told you to never email him again, you can put his address in this plug-in, and if you later forget and try to mail him, it won't go through. It's kind of the Express way of doing the same thing that bulk mailers do with their do-not-mail lists.

thanks,
Bryan

I'm not entirely sure what you need this for? If you don't want to email Bob, then simply remove his address from your book then you won't be tempted. if you are mailing a group of friends, then use the Group feature to setup a group for those you wish to mail, and exclude Bob from the group. If it's mass mailing, then perhaps a review of your ISP's terms of service on this subject is relevant before you continue further?

If you are contacting people from their websites, you lose track of who you've emailed. Then you come across the same person on a different site, and you email them again, after they told you the first time to not to do so.

OK, here is a better description of the need:

I'm looking for a mail solution that will do one very important thing: Block our office staff from sending emails to particular email addresses. Why? Because our people surf the web and send emails to people who look like they might be good customers for us. However, as you may know, many people/companies on the web are listed on several different websites.

If one of our staff sends and email to a person that I'll call Bob, and Bob then replies "do not email me anymore", then yes, this particular staff person knows not to email Bob anymore. But a second staff person, on a different computer, in a different room, at a different time, has no idea that Bob told us not to email. And so this second staff person finds Bob on a different website, and emails Bob at the same email address that Bob said for us not to send any emails to. Since we send emails like this to over 1000 people per day, it is impossible for us to us paper to keep track of who we should not send emails to.

So, I'm looking for a product that will look at all the outgoing-emails that our staff sends, and will check who they are being sent to, and make sure none of the emails are on our list of do-not-emails (which Bob's email address would have been on.) With such a product, Bob would be on this do-not-email list, and if any staff member on any computer at any time tried to email Bob, the email would be blocked by the product.

Any product that will do this is OK... either a mail server, or a plug-in to Outlook Express, or even a web-based-service that somehow checks our mail before it is sent out.

Is there any product you can recommend?

Yes there is a very good one. It will handle hundreds of lists, unlimited names, add.'s and all the follow up responders you could ever need.
And it is ten times faster and much more reliable then outlook express. you get no complaints, the software auto. removes people that do not want on your list. It will do many more of the jobs you are paying people to do.
E-mail me and I'll send the Info.

Thanks
Akeith
