scroll problem with word

Specs: Macintosh
There is this really annoying feature of Microsoft Word that I am wondering if anyone can help me with.

I use word for a lot of long documents that I am writing and as I am writing I often want to use the Mac 2 finger scroll feature to scroll up and see what I have written. The problem is I tend to scroll up and a little bit to the right as I scroll and I inevitably end up scrolling over so far to the right that I can't see all the text anymore. I know its my fault but why does Word have so much open space to the right of my text. I can scroll over the equivalent of several feet to the right of my text which is space I don't use and is beyond the margins I have set for the document.

I understand this feature only happens in the draft mode but this is the mode that is most handy while writing a document. Does anyone know how to change this in Word or do you have any other helpful suggestions.

thanks a lot,

In my (PC) 2007 version, Draft Mode honors the margins I set up. It word wraps at the end of a line.

If you have 2007, try on the View tab, unhide ruler and see if the margins change between layouts.
