I need to reinstall OS on my computer and I'm saving my files on external media, but I can't seem to locate the contents of my Outlook mailboxes (Sent, Inbox, etc). I tried to track them using Windows Explorer, but all I was able to locate is a certain .FAV file with a small Outlook icon that says it's only 26 KB. It does actually launch Outlook when I open it, but that doesn't sound right because my mailboxes are several MB. I would appreciate any advice...

You should find the folders under Documents and Settings/Kamal/local settings/application data/identities/ . If you do a search for Local settings you will see that it is under Documents and settings but it may be hidden. I had it on my computer before I reformated but can not see it now. Once you find the hidden files you save it and import "messages" just like address book. Hope this helps somewhat. Bob

Hi Kamal-- To view hidden files go to control panel and double click on Folder options. Click on View Tab. Go down and put a dot in Show hidden files and folders-ok . You should now see Local settings under Documents and settings/kamal/local settings/identities . Just keep clicking. After identities you will come to a # like {A2F0DF0A-EAB5-4CC8-91D2-ABA8 just double click it and double click on Microsoft and then double click on Outlook express and you will see your folders in Outlook express. Just save these to import into Outlook when you are ready. Bob
