Right-click Issue

February 17, 2011 at 11:23:50
Specs: Windows XP
When I highlight a row, if I right-click a cell inside that row to get the pop-up menu, it selects that cell only instead of the entire row. If I want the menu on the entire row, I find that I have to right click on the row-header instead. Never used to be this way. Can anyone offer suggestions on how to fix? This is with Excel 2003.

Two things are possible, as I am not sure I completely understand your error. I believe you are saying that you want to right click a cell and get a row context menu. I do not ever remember having an active or selected cell and seeing options other than insert and the likes on the context menu. It has been a few years since I was last in 2003 though. So ...

1. You have made an incorrect selection and are trying for the wrong context menu.
2. You have disabled internal excel macros for context menus, and these options or menus are no longer showing.

You can do a repair/reinstall of the idividual program ...

I'm still learning everyday.
