retrograde outlook issue

Hi all got this weird outlook issue where when i cant receive emails above say, 100kb,which is obviously not large,and sometimes the little bar at the bottom right says recieving msg 1 of 7 etc... it will just stay and the same place e.g 120kb of 320kb,pc has plenty of hdd space,virus free and I got rid of a lot of msgs so space shouldnt be an issue,any ideas? thanks
