Restore MS Outlook profiles?

so i backed up all my files and reformatted my HD. some of the files i wanted were my old MS Outlook calendar entries, so i copied all the files from:
Documents and Settings\Your Profile\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
I got 3 files (profile.FAV, and 2 that windows doesn't recognize).
I tried putting them back in the same directory on the fresh MS Outlook install, but it's not working. It looks like i should have used some fancy import/export trick, but i didn't. i've still got the files, though, so i'm not ready to give up just yet. I'd really like to restore my calendar.
