If it's a valid copy of Office, just call Microsoft and ask them.

If it's not a valid copy, please don't ask for help in these forums - it's against the rules of this site.

You could borrow a portable CD reader from someone...

It's a valid copy. I just lost my computer and had to replace it. This one does not have a DVD ROM. I was hoping there was a way- short of buying an external drive or flash drive, or borrowing one-to download it at the Microsoft site, but I could not find any download to do that. Have you ever tried to call Microsoft? I tried and was on hold for over 40 minutes. I have decided to just get an external drive.

Everything in life has it's advantages and disadvantages,

You were on hold for 40 minutes.

I'll bet it'll take you more than 40 minutes to buy and install an external drive.

Of course, you'll own the drive much longer than you would have "owned" the call with MS.

All in all, you probably made the right choice.

The best part is when I went to buy the external DVD drive, I found a 250G portable hard drive that was 22 dollars and slim as a calculator. Haven't done the sync yet, but I am told it will be easier than the DVD drive. Hope so.
