Is the number of data lines always 3 for each person as shown in your example or does the number of data lines vary?

Is the first line of each group exactly as you have posted, i.e. Name...Hyphen...Data 1

Person A - Data 1

Dear Sir,
the data is in the following manner
A B C
1 NAME DESC MARCH
2 Person a PF 1000
3 EPF 175
4 PFSAL 100
5 Person b .......

they are these 3 details for each person that needs to be put in the following manner
NAME PF EPF PFSAL
Person a 10000 175 100
Person b .....

the data is equally distributed in columns of 3. YES! with a
Person a separated by blank row

thanks a lot

✔ Best Answer
First, a posting tip...

Please click on the blue line at the end of this post and read the instructions on how to post data in this forum. Then please repost your data so that the columns line up.

That said, you seem to have changed your requirements. In your first post you wanted Data 1, Data 2 and Data 3 transposed from rows to columns.

In your second post you seem to have added the requirement of stripping out the text strings PF, EPF and PFSAL from the data lines. That is a very different requirement from your first post and makes the solution a bit more complex.

In addition, the PF for Person A is 1000 in your input and 10000 in your output. Is that a typo or a calculation?

Please repost your input and output, using the instructions found via the blue line at the end of this post, making sure that it is accurate, so that we can offer a solution that works for you.

dear Sir,
i completely agree with you, that i sound as if i changed my requirements.
i also want to restate that there is no calculations, only data transpose of 350 records.

Input:
            NAME	Desc. March
1 PFSAL	1000
            ANUSUYA PF	120
                        EPF	37

Output:

A B C D E
1 ANUSUYA 1000 120 37

THANKS in anticipation

Now I'm really confused.

Your latest example data shows the PFSAL data above the row with the name, while before it was on the row below EPF.

There is no way for us to help you if things change everytime you post your data.

Dear Sir. Sorry if it was confusing....

:) its was just a sample. no changes in my requirements.

again... my humble submission is that 3 columns as mentioned in the input & output.
in the last post. NO CHANGES. the PF, EPF & PFSAL are all in same order for all input. i need to transpose these equal data in to rows.
thank u for ur time & patience
