PST folders smaller than PST size

Hi I have a PST file which shows as 24Mb, but when I import it into Outlook it only gives me folders of 4.7Mb. I do not see all the mails I am expecting to see. Any idea why there is the difference in sizes and are my mails in there somewhere and how do I get them out?

24 MB is pretty tiny for a pst file. What version of Outlook are you using? You can always go to File, Open, Outlook Data File (or Personal Folder File depending on version), and browse to the path. Then, you can view the contents of the file.
