PST file / Contacts question

Does the pst file contain the contacts folder or is that located in a different file???
I am referring to the contacts that when you have the "folder view" open on the side, it shows up under Personal Folders...
I wipped W2K off my C drive and installed XP and Office 2003...I had a bunch of pst files that I saved, but none of them have any of my contacts...

Contacts as an Outlook Address Book are saved in the pst file. If you have then in a Personal Address Book, then they're in a pab file, and not included with the pst.
