problem with date format

Specs: Windows 7

I am having problems with dates. I am copying data from my office's server. the data contains months from 2010 to 2012. when i copy this file from the server to my system the year in the date changes to 2012 for all the dates. When the file is downloaded to any other system, the date remains the same. its a csv file. i need to edit the data based on dates only so its very important . pls help !

Without the csv file to test, it's hard for us to offer a specific solution.

The first thing I would look for is differences between the system that works and the one that doesn't.

Different versions of Excel? Different formats for the cells (Date vs. Text)? etc.

Sorry, but again, not being able to replicate your environment, it's kind of hard for us to offer a specific solution.

Are you copy just Months with the Year?

What is the format of the dates you are copying?

Something like 10/10 for October of 2010, with no Day?
