Comment:

I am trying to install M/S VB.NET on my PC without much luck. I have a Dell Inspiron PC that is less than a year old and running Windows XP Home Edition.

I insert the first CD and the Install requests the second CD for some .NET prerequisites. This is the message I get after the second CD finishes:

Miscrosoft Visual Studio .NET prerequisites Setup Failed!

Visual Studio .NET Prerequisites SUmmary
* Microsoft FrontPage 2000 Web Extensions Client
* Setup Runtime Files
* Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1

I did find instructions to install that said to try to install them individually. I ran weccom.msi and bootstrap.msi. This also did not work. I did get a message to contact the System Administrator. However, after talking to myself, the problem was not resolved, but I was a bit more frustrated.

Has anyone encountered and resolved this?

Thanks;

Steve Rhoades
