I copied and pasted a .pst from a desktop running Outlook 2000 to a laptop running 2003. I now have 2 duplicate personal folders and all the mail ends up in both of them. I am getting multiple copies of the same e-mail. I want to delete the .pst from the laptop and start over. I uninstalled office, deleted .pst and reinstalled office hoping to get a fresh .pst so I could import the old data but it did not install one. I am at a loss how to fix my errors.
Outlook won't let you close personal folder if it is your default folder to receive e-mail (per Office online help). I tried creating another folder to make as default for e-mail, was then able to delete original personal folder duplicte, now have duplicate of new folder?

Go into Control panel under mail and Add a new one (exchange, pop etc) and this should create a .pst for you. And here is where you will create your "Inboxes". And then quite possibly if you still have the desired old .pst you could simply point outlook to look in the "application data (hidden folder)" for the corresponding .pst. Good luck.
