Hey,
I have been working on a powerpoint presentation. It currently has reached 580 mb. However, recently my computer stalled and I had to restart (probably due to the large number of pictures). When I restarted my computer and opened the .ppt file it gave me the error message "There was an error accessing C:\Documents and Settings\Hp_administrator\Desktop\presentation.ppt" The only option accompanied with this message is ok which takes me to a blank powerpoint application with only toolbars showing. There are no slides open. This project is time sensitive and any help a soon as possible would be great.

You could try these suggestions, but it sounds like the file is corrupt and therefore lost.
1 - Open PowerPoint and click on File. Mouse down to your list of recently opened presentations and see if the file can be opened from there.
2 - Open Powerpoint and click on Insert. Mouse down to "Slides from Files..." On the Find Presentation tab, click Browse and navigate to the file you are having problems with. If you are lucky, all of the slides will appear in the Select Slides section. If they do, make sure there is a checkmark in the Keep Source Formatting box and click Insert All.
Save the new file under a real name.
Good Luck!
Remember: Save Early, Save Often

My guess is the file is corrupt and the data is locked inside that little icon forever.
You have my condolences.
