hi there,
i am wondering if anyone can help out here....
awhile ago, i had written on this forum, that i was needing information on ms office....namely microsoft word 97, and alot of good folks gave me alot of suggestions and recommendations.....anyways, that led me to d/l pro 602 suite, which i thought was good.....however, doing that distrupted ms word from being used....and i guess it was my mistake during the installation of 602.....so i did uninstall 602, but the program is gone, but it still states '602 pro suite' in my add/remove programs....
and when i try to open documents with word.....only 602 opens the documents.....what can i do? pls advise.....thank you

first,in explorator, check for file/software association (explorator/file options/files type ) and see wot's in regard of doc extension. To remove completly, try to download Regcleaner, freeware, and use it. It's light to download and maybe u can clean up ur registry with it...

Do a search on your harddrive for winword.exe. It would be incredible that the Word exe would be deleted, but better to be sure. Assuming that it's there in the search results (open windows explorer, navigate to the C: drive - right click on the icon and select search)

Double-click on the winword.exe. You SHOULD see Word come up. Assuming that happens, then go up to options/file types (as listed above) and see what the .doc extension is pointing to.

good luck
