Please Help! Posted this already but got no replies!
I'm trying to link to an open excel spreadsheet, the data I need is always in the same position in the file but the file name changes, is there a way of asking for the data from the spreadsheet that is open please?

Since you haven't received a response, either what you want isn't possible, or the right person hasn't seen your post. Are you trying to link to a Sheet in the same workbook you have open?
You may want to stick to your original post, as it's against the rules of this site to duplicate post. So you've now run the risk of having onr of both posts deleted.

It's a different workbook each time but in exactly the same format.

I don't know how Excel could know what file to reference if the name is always changing. Perhaps it could be referenced by date or some other criteria, but without more information...
