I'm trying to make a spreadsheet inventory of some furniture and would like to have a picture of the furniture in the cell next to the description. But Excel doesn't want to accept the pictures as data and it floats outside the cell. Is there a way to have it fit in the cell properly?

You might consider using a comment box for the picture.
Add a comment to the cell but remove any text. Right click the cell and select show comment. Right click the border of the comment and select format comment. Pick the color and lines tab and select fill effects from the color drop down box. Select the picture tab and browse for the picture.
Resize the comment box as needed. Hope this helps.
