Picture It Publishing Shutting Down

I recently got a new computer. I installed Microsoft Picture It Publishing 2002 on it, as it was a great program on my old computer. I installed it successfully, and opened the program no problem. When I went to create media, using the 3rd cd-rom provided, the program simply shut down. I selected the media I wished to open, and the whole program just disappeared, without even an error message. I tried to delete and reinstall the whole thing only to encounter the same problem. Anyone have any idea what has happened?

Are you able to open it in safe mode?
If you can, then there is probably a service that is stopping it from running...
or try to install it on another PC... if it does the same, then the disc is faulty... only saying that as my last Linysys wireless network card had a dodgy CD ROM, and I had to exchange this with a working one....

I have installed this on other PC's and it works just fine. The program opens in safe mode however I can't use the CD Rom to read the disc (which is what makes it shut down) in safe mode so I still can't tell what the problem is.
