The .PDF attachment in an Outlook 2003 e-mail has a word emblem in front of it. The attachment opens in word as unreadable code even though it is a .pdf. When I send the e-mail to another computer it then has a adobe emblem and opens fine in outlook 2003 on that computer. I can open the file on this computer if I save it to my docs and then activate adobe reader 9 and open it there. There has to be something simple to fix this in outlook 2003. Please help. Thanks
Thanks & Regards,
Mahesh.K

As far as I'm aware it'll be a change in your windows settings rather than a specific outlook option.
In an normal explorer window (e.g. my computer), go to tools/folder options and choose the "file types" tab.
Go down to PDF in the list, and underneath that it'll tell you what it opens with. Guess it's microsoft word at the moment. Change it over to acrobat and you should be fine.

ah, just thought of another thing.
Go to my computer again, choose tools/folder options and go to the VIEW tab. Take the tick out the box which says "Hide extensions for known file types".
Go back to your email and double-check the file hasn't been saved as something odd - e.g. filename.PDF.doc / .rtf
Other than that I've got no idea. HTH

Save the file locally. Then, in Windows Explorer, right-click the file and select Open With. Browse to your Adobe version, and check the box to always open the filetype with this program.
